Tenuta Lamborghini sits in Umbria, between the southern shore of Lake Trasimeno and the medieval village of Panicale, on the border of Tuscany, not far from Cortona and the Val di Chiana.
The property totals 100 hectares: a 9-hole golf course, a resort with restaurant and, above all, 36 hectares of vines planted to Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Ciliegiolo.
Ferruccio Lamborghini acquired the estate in the late 1960s when he fell in love with this landscape, at once harsh and gentle. Having stepped away from his legendary car business, he returned to his farming roots.
Today led by his daughter Patrizia, the estate produces wines of a high level. Campoleone, a Sangiovese-Merlot blend aged at length in barriques, has established itself as one of the great reds of central Italy.
