Our story.
- A single-block vineyard in Mombaruzzo, 90% planted to Barbera
- Innovation in the vineyard and cellar in the service of quality
- Since 2025, part of the ONIWINES group (Veronesi family)
Founded by brothers Pico and Vitaliano Maccario in 1997 on the hills of Mombaruzzo in the Monferrato, the estate is today one of Piedmont's largest single-block vineyards, with more than 100 hectares planted to Barbera, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Cortese and Moscato d'Asti.
In the Langhe, the house also grows Nebbiolo in Neive, Serralunga d'Alba and Barolo, with plots in the mythical Cannubi Cru, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious vineyards.
The estate champions a modern take on Barbera d'Asti: ripe, generous, aromatic, with a lively acidic frame. The Lavignone, flagship cuvée, embodies this philosophy of immediate approachability and real depth.
A unique visual signature: the coloured pali matita stakes that mark the vines and tell on their own the creative identity of the house. Since 2025 Pico Maccario has joined the ONIWINES group led by the Veronesi family.
